The ASUMAC steering committee meeting will take place on Tuesday, April 21 in the Computing Commons auditorium (CPCOM 120) at 10 am. Although this is not a general meeting and no speakers are scheduled, the meeting is open to those interested in discussing future ASUMAC general meeting topics or items pertaining to Apple/Mac issues on the ASU campus.

The Cisco SSLVPN client for Mac OS X, which can be used to connect to resources protected by ASU installed Cisco firewalls, is available online for ASU faculty, staff and students at the following link:
The installation requires a valid ASURITE username and password to download and install the VPN client via your desired web browser. Please note that not all ASU data resources are protected by Cisco firewalls. Contact your local ASU IT staff to determine if the Cisco SSLVPN can be used to access data resources in your area.

The topic will be Mac OS X deployment in a lab or classroom environment.
Alvin Bridges and Sasan Poureetezadi from the IT staff of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication will discuss the recent deployment of the Mac OS X and Windows environment throughout the new Cronkite School building located at ASU’s Downtown Phoenix campus. Windows SysAdmins come and experience the Macintosh, get an understanding of Macintosh terminology and what it means in the Windows world. SysAdmins will walk away with a better understanding of maneuvering the Macintosh. Al Teran from Apple will lead a discussion on how to help improve support for the growing number of Apple based hardware making its way on the ASU campus.
